Creating Products

Products can be created from the product list page, by clicking the Add New button. This displays a form.

Fields

• Product Name - base of product name, do not include attributes or dimensions, these are added later.

• Categories - Use the dropdowns to filter through categories.

• Extra Detail - Optional free text field, use this to add any extra description to the product that would not be relevant in the title.

• Website URL - Optional, add a link to the product.

• Unit - Usually Each for products.

• Status - Usually Active, however select Draft if further configuration is required before it can be used on quotes.

Attributes

This section allows adding multiple attributes to be assigned to a product. You can add multiple values against the same attribute, this will then generate multiple products from all the combinations of variants. For the sample below, 4 products will be created, each one with a different value for timber.

1. Select an attibute from the first dropdown, this will populate the values in the second dropdown.

2. Select values from the attribute values dropdown. Note: if an attribute or value you need is not present, see Creating Attributes

3. The selected value will display in the box to the right, you can then select more values by re-selecting from the values dropdown.

4. You can remove values from the list by clicking on them in the selected box.

5. To remove an entire attribute, click the X button at the end of the line.

Dealing with Dimensions

There must be at least two dimension attributes for each product.

The Show dimension in name checkbox allows selection of which dimensions are shown in the product title.

At least one dimension must be shown in the title.
